Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.
Meet the Miami Team Behind Ashby Chimney Miami
We’re a small crew, and that’s by design. Every technician who shows up at your door in Miami, Coral Gables, or Kendall is someone Nathan Corliss has personally trained and worked beside in a flue. No subcontractors, no day-labor crews, nobody learning on your dime without supervision. We’ve been doing chimneys in South Florida since 2002, and the people below are the reason our phones ring with referrals from Coconut Grove to Palmetto Bay. Salt air, humidity, and the occasional iguana in a flue – we’ve seen it all, and we’re still here.
Styles & brands we work with

Our People
Nathan Corliss, Owner & Lead Chimney Technician
Nathan founded Ashby Chimney Miami in 2002 and still runs the camera on most inspections himself. He’s certified through the Chimney Safety Institute of America and has spent more than two decades studying how South Florida’s climate punishes masonry and steel. Nathan’s the one who decided every job gets a written price before work starts and a written guarantee after – he got tired of watching companies hand homeowners a surprise invoice at the door. He’ll tell you the strangest thing he’s pulled from a flue was a conch shell, and he’s still not sure how it got there. When he’s not on a roof, he’s usually teaching an apprentice how to read creosote buildup like a weather report.
Marisol V., Service Coordinator
Marisol has been with Ashby since 2019 and is almost certainly the voice you’ll hear when you call (850) 787-8597. She knows the difference between a smoke-back problem that needs same-week attention and a cosmetic question that can wait until fall, and she’ll tell you straight which one you have. Before chimney work, Marisol ran dispatch for a plumbing company in Hialeah, so she’s unflappable when three jobs change schedule in the same afternoon. She keeps a running list of which Miami-Dade neighborhoods have the strictest HOA rules about roof access, and she flags it before the crew ever shows up.
Danny R., Senior Installer
Danny joined the crew in 2015 after a decade in commercial roofing, and he’s our go-to for stainless steel liners and full fireplace rebuilds. He’s factory-trained on DuraFlex and HeatShield systems, and he can drop a 35-foot liner into a two-story Coral Gables chimney without scratching a terra cotta cap. Danny’s the one who insists the drop cloths go down before the tools come off the truck, and he’s been known to vacuum the driveway before we leave. If there’s a hard repair that needs to look easy, he’s the reason it does.
Luis T., Apprentice Technician
Luis is the newest member of the team, apprenticing under Nathan since early 2024. He came from a residential construction background and is working toward his own CSIA certification. Right now, you’ll find him handling the base of the rotary whip, running the HEPA vacuum, and learning to read a Level 2 camera feed without missing hairline cracks in a flue liner. He’s got a sharp eye for detail and a borderline obsessive habit of labeling every brush head before it goes back in the van. Nathan trusts him to pack the truck, which is saying something.
One Standard, Every Job
Every Ashby location is independently owned and operated under the Kingswell Guarantee, and that means we follow the same five commitments on every single job in Miami: say the price before we start, show up in the window we gave you, leave the house cleaner than we found it, put the guarantee in writing, and come back if it fails. Nathan enforces this with his own crew the same way he’d want it enforced at any other shop in the network. The brands we use – DuraFlex, HeatShield, Gelco, Olympia Chimney, Famco, Copperfield – are the same ones specified across the network, because a guarantee is only as good as the materials behind it. The Kingswell Way isn’t a slogan. It’s the reason we don’t have to advertise much.
